Dr. Gorin was originally trained as an engineer.  His engineering science and math background combined with his specialty training in dentistry affords him a unique perspective of orthodontic practice.  While attending the University of Maryland, he developed a mathematical model that is used for the computerized analysis of orthodontic x-rays.   The recognition of Dr. Gorin's software as a research tool and clinical aid was instrumental in the computerization of the orthodontic postgraduate department at the University of Maryland.

Upon completing his postgraduate orthodontic training at the University of Maryland, Dr. Gorin was invited to be the first Associate Professor in the Division of Orthodontic Technology. 

Certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics signifies a unique achievement for an orthodontist.  Dr. Gorin shares this distinction with only 2200 other orthodontists worldwide. Certification, which is a voluntary process, provides an extensive review of the orthodontist's basic education, as well as an intensive assessment of the orthodontist's clinical expertise. Becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics exemplifies Dr. Gorin's conscientious effort to excel in his specialty.  The American Board of Orthodontics is the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association.

Dr. Gorin is a member of several professional associations and societies.  In keeping current, he has developed special interests in adult orthodontic therapy, facial esthetics, cosmetic dentistry, combined orthodontic/surgical treatment, orthodontic skeletal anchorage systems (TAD's), Accelerated  Osteogenic Orthodontics(tm), Wilckodontics(tm), pre-prosthetic orthodontic preparation and dento-facial orthopedics, as well as traditional adolescent orthodontic therapy. 

Dr. Gorin is often called upon to prepare lectures and educational programs for other dental specialists, restorative doctors and post graduate residents. In doing so, Dr. Gorin is continually offering unique and countless solutions for the restorative dental team. 

Dr. Gorin is the lead clinical architect of the largest hospital-based program in Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics(tm), which is presently being considered by several institutions in the New York metropolitan area.
